The best time to travel in Lebanon

The best seasons in which to visit Lebanon are Spring and Autumn, but you can travel there almost all year round.

You can travel to Lebanon at any time of year, although if you struggle with the heat, it's best to avoid the peak of summer. Winter in Lebanon is mild in the plains, and the ski season lasts from December to May in the mountains. Spring and Autumn are absolutely perfect: it's hot, but not overly so, and throughout the countryside the plants are coming into flower.

Lebanon boasts six ski stations and the ski season lasts from December to May. From May onwards, you'll be able to enjoy the beaches, swimming or trying waterskiing, windsurfing or sailing. Don't forget to visit the beaches in the South, the most beautiful in the country.

The best time of year for a hiking trip in Lebanon is Autumn: summer's heat has faded and the countryside is sublime. You could also travel in Spring to discover the countryside, filled with olive groves and vineyards, to follow the famous literary trail of Baskinta or to explore the Chouf reserve.
