Qeqertarsuaq is an island on the Disko Bay in Greenland. It is a mountainous island, perfect for hiking and adopting Inuit lifestyle.

My suggestion:
Take the time to explore Qeqertarsuaq for a few days perhaps, during your trip to Greenland. Hiking, dogsledding and watching icebergs will keep you very busy.
My review

Qeqertarsuaq is the largest island in Greenland - in Kalaallisut, Qeqertarsuaq means « big island ». The town (750 inhabitants) is surrounded by basaltic mountains on one side and icebergs on the other. I was very impressed when I arrived by boat from Ilulissat: the town looks tiny when seen at the foot of the mountains.

You must hike along the marked trails to explore the mountains and the valleys, but also the black-sand beaches. From the top of the Lyngmark mountain, the view of the Disko Bay is breathtaking. You can also arrange excursions by boat for bird watching. Don't forget your binoculars. If you have time, visit the small historical folk museum of Qeqertarsuaq. I found it interesting.
