A more responsible, tailor-made trip directly with the best local agencies
Mingala ba! Extending over nearly 1,200 miles from North to South and with hundreds of miles of coastline, Burma offers many stunning natural wonders... There is incredibly abundant nature, Inle Lake with its floating market and stilted houses, sublime beaches where turquoise waters bathe ivory coloured beaches... your trip holds many beautiful sites in store for you. However, what most marks travellers in Burma remains, without a doubt, the extraordinary culture of this country. Imagine several hundred temples and pagodas rising out of a mist shrouded plain like a mysterious cotton cloak. You are not dreaming, you are looking at the Plains of Bagan, where the first Burmese kingdom once stood. More than 3,000 pagodas and temples arise on these 40 sq. miles. Let us remain optimistic and hope the people will soon achieve the peace which they deserve. Because a trip to Burma is also an occasion for meeting the Burmese people, renowned for their extreme kindness and hunger for contacts with the outside world.

When to go in Burma?

The best time to visit Burma is between December and March: there is no rain and it doesn't get too hot at this time of year. The southwestern monsoon season begins between May and June and lasts until October. From March to May, the heat is practically unbearable. On the other hand, this is a good time of year to enjoy the mountains, where the climate is much cooler. The best time to explore this extraordinary country and its absolutely fascinating sites, therefore, is during the winter months. You are certain to find Burma a charming place, but avoid the really hot months.
