Benefit the Planet
Tourism depends on a healthy planet- and it must help protect it in return.
At Evaneos, we make travel part of the solution—preserving and regenerating nature, and decarbonizing our operations. We promote closer-to-home trips, train travel, longer stays, and low-impact itineraries, while working with local partners on decarbonization and nature restoration.

CARBON 30
Our Decarbonization Strategy
The strategy counts it all: operations, in-destination activities, and international flights. Transparency on travel’s full footprint is the basis for bold emission cuts - guided by our Glasgow commitment to a net-zero path.
We measure CO₂ per traveler per day to track real progress, not easy wins. This lets us cut emissions where it counts - across operations, trips, and flights - guided by four levers that redefine how we travel, near or far.

Travel Closer & Skip the Plane
Choosing destinations closer to home avoid long-haul flights - the biggest source of emissions. And when these trips can be done by train, they become an even smarter way to discover culture and nature with less impact.

Itinerary Optimization
Together with our local partners, we analyze and redesign itineraries to cut carbon impact - without compromising the depth, comfort, and cultural richness of the travel experience.

Stay Longer
If you’re going far, make it count. We extend minimum trip length for long-haul destinations, ensuring slower pace, richer cultural immersion, and stronger, more lasting benefits for local communities and economies.

Biodiversity
Tourism can protect what it depends on - when done right. In partnership with Planeterra, we support community-led tree planting and reforestation initiatives rooted in local communities. Across Tanzania, Mexico, Morocco, Thailand and Madagascar, these projects are led by community partners who grow and plant trees on their own land - creating sustainable livelihoods while restoring ecosystems and protecting biodiversity.
From Maasai communities in Tanzania to Indigenous-led initiatives in Mexico’s Mayan Forest, each project is deeply embedded in its local context. This initiative reflects our commitment to nature-positive and sustainable tourism, where travel directly supports environmental regeneration and community-based tourism.

From Offsetting to Climate Action
Since 2021 we’ve offset more than 300,000 tonnes of CO₂ – covering in-destination and internal emissions. And from 2026, we’ll evolve toward a new climate strategy built on systemic, lasting change. Stay tuned!
