If you are looking for total relaxation and sunshine less than three hours away by plane and do not want to bother with administrative formalities or a tonne of forms, don't hesitate for a second: a trip to Morocco is perfect for you.
To organise a trip to Morocco, French nationals only need to present a passport that is valid up until the end of their stay. If you come on a package holiday and not by your own means, a valid identity card may be allowed. In this case, it is still always preferable to ask your tour operator whether this option is still availablewhen you leave for Morocco. For Belgian, Swiss and Canadian nationals, a passport is compulsory and must be valid for at least 3 months after their return. There is no need of a visa for anyone if your stay does not exceed 3 months.
You do not need to bring your international certificate of vaccination; no vaccines are required for entering Morocco. However, vaccines for hepatitis A, typhoid and rabies are strongly recommended.
If you anticipate driving or hiring a vehicle, your national licence is sufficient. In case you run into a policeman that is a bit zealous, take your international driving licence as well. You can get it for free from your prefecture.
Upon arriving in the territory, you automatically receive the right to stay for 3 months. At the end of this period of time, you then have the option to extend your stay in Morocco by 3 additional months. In this case, it is imperative that you have a passport in order (the French national identity card is no longer accepted in this case). You must go to any police station at least two weeks before the end of the first three months. It would be best to take this step as soon as possible—perhaps even as soon as you arrive. You must also prove your residence and your income to ensure that you have the means to stay longer.
