The nature of the environs of Namhae is splendid, in particular its marine landscapes. The rice terraces built into the sides of the cliffs and beside the sea are very beautiful, as is the viewpoint from which you can admire the waves crashing against the rocks.
The Mulgeonri forest was planted all along the coast over 300 years ago to break the onslaught of the wind. I find it a very pleasant place for a walk and to escape from the heat.
Namhae is the only village where a traditional method of fishing is still practised, which consists of using bamboo stalks planted in the water in V formation. With the variations of light on the sea, it makes an astounding sight. Then go try the specialities made from the anchovies caught with this ancestral technique.
