<p>It's a bit like being at the end of the world, though complete with all the things we tourists require: restaurants, hotels, cabinas and numerous luxury hotels, all usually hidden away behind the local vegetation (the plus side).</p> <p>Visiting this region is by far my best memory of my trip to Costa Rica It is adventure with a capital A here. <strong>At the beach at Bahia Drake,</strong> which is lined with coconut palms and virtually deserted, you could imagine yourself in the world of Robinson Crusoe. It's an ideal place for walks amongst tropical vegetation and for observing wildlife, especially whales and dolphins etc. These can often be observed in the bay and around Isla del Caño, a small local island.</p> <p>Where surfing is concerned, there are some exceptional spots around the mouth of the Sierpe River. </p>
