After having read the information needed for the itinerary, filled up the scooter, and bought what I needed for the trip from the market, the journey from Sen Monorom to the Bou Sraa waterfall began with a long stretch of potholed road and the route was quite hard going. After a bit the surface gave way to a much better tarmacked surface as far as the water fall.
After having parked the bike, and gone down the steps which lead to the waterfall, stealing a bit of fruit on the way, I finally saw the famous Bou Sraa. The scenery is fantastic. The first fall is about 20 metres high and ends in a natural pool where a fisherman was casting his net.
If you turn round you can see the second part of the waterfall descending and immense forest for as far as the eye can see. Few people do it but you can walk down to the foot of the second fall. When you have the first fall opposite you, look for a small path on your left and you will get to a big wooden staircase (it doesn't look very reassuring but it's solid) which leads lower down. And you're there. It's a must-see during your trip to Cambodia!
