Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you'll be met by a representative from our local travel agency and transferred to your hotel. Depending on the time of your flight, you and your family will have the whole day to relax or explore some of Hanoi's lakes and parks on foot.
After breakfast, you and your family will be picked up from your hotel lobby and taken on a guided city tour around Hanoi, starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex. Your visit includes the Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh Museum, and the Temple of Literature - Vietnam’s first university dating back to 1070.
After lunch at a local Vietnamese restaurant, you'll continue visiting the Museum of Ethnology and embark on a cyclo ride through the streets of the Old Quarter - a must for any visitor to Hanoi! Finally, the day will end with a traditional performance of Vietnamese water puppets and an overnight train to Hoa Lu.
In the morning, you'll set off on a two hour road trip through the picturesque countryside that leads to Hoa Lu. Upon arrival, your guide will lead you through the ancient complex to show you ancient palaces, pagodas, tombs, and pavilions built by different dynasties. From there, you and your family will hop on your bike for a gentle ride through some of the most stunning landscapes in the countryside, pas rice fields and along streams before stopping off for lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you'll take a two hour sampan ride along the waterways of Tam Coc. Known locally as the ‘Halong Bay of the land,’ this winding river way is dotted with gorgeous limestone karsts. You'll also visit Bich Dong Pagoda before returning to Hanoi for the night.
At 8:00 AM, you and your family will be picked up at your hotel to start the scenic 3.5 hour drive to the UNESCO-listed Halong Bay, the world's largest marine limestone 'karst' landscape.
Upon arrival, you'll meet your boat crew and hop on board to relax and enjoy lunch as the boat heads towards secluded islands. You'll visit a hidden local gem; an ancient limestone cave where you can go sea kayaking and swimming (if weather permits!). After a sunset drink on board and a fresh seafood dinner under the stars, you'll spend the night on board.
After an optional early morning swim and some breakfast, you'll head on to a fishing village in a rustic rowing-boat. You'll pass friendly local people, floating schools, and pearl farms before cruising back to the main harbour for the drive back to Hanoi.
Upon arrival in the afternoon, you'll have some free time to relax or stroll around the Old Quarter. In the evening, you'll head to Hanoi Railway Station for an overnight train to Hue.
Upon arrival in Hue Railway Station at 9:30 AM, you and your family will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in Hue city centre.
In the afternoon, you'll get to enjoy a ‘dragon boat’ (motorised traditional Vietnamese boat) ride down the Perfume River to the staggering Thien Mu Pagoda. Later, you'll visit the majestic Royal Tomb of King Ming Mang as well as the tomb of the emperor Khai Dinh, before arriving back at your hotel just before sunset. An optional activity for this evening is a candle-lit dinner set in a garden house!
After breakfast, you'll spend the morning on a guided city tour of Imperial City of Hue, firstly with the ancient walled Citadel and former Imperial Palace. You'll then visit the Dong Ba market to learn about local produce and specialties of Hue.
In the afternoon, you and your family will be driven south to Hoi An, on a spectacular road trip past the coast line and Hai Van Pass (Pass of the Clouds).
At 9:00 AM, your guide will meet you at your hotel and start your incredible street food adventure tour by bicycle! Setting off in Tan An Central Market, you'll visit the food hall hosting an array of home-cooked street foods. You'll then continue on to a local family's house where they'll show you how to make the famous Vietnamese White Rose dumpling and 'Mi Quang' noodles.
Another short bicycle ride will take you to another local home in the peaceful countryside where you'll be greeted with a refreshing drink. You'll then prepare the ingredients for your dishes and start your hands-on food experience with the local family! Your day ends with a ride to the Ancient Quarter of Hoi An where your guide will lead you on a short evening tour.
Today, you and your family will have a half-day tour getting to know Vietnam's rural culture. Accompanied by your local guide, you'll start with a gentle cycling tour along country roads, during which you'll stop off to visit an organic vegetable village, water and planting vegetable, hoe soil with a local farmer, and even ride a water buffalo in a rice paddy field!
Later you will board a boat for a river cruise to meet local fishermen and try your hand at traditional net fishing. You'll also get to try paddling the unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boat in the coconut palm-filled waterways. After lunch on the boat, you'll return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free to relax.
After breakfast, you'll have some free time until your transfer to Danang Airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City. When you arrive, you'll be met by another driver who will transfer you to your hotel where you can put your feet up for the rest of the day.
After a late breakfast, you'll embark on a guided city tour including; the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Old Post office.
After lunch, you and your family will have some free time until the evening when you'll embark on a quick, fun, and tasty overview of Ho Chi Minh City’s best street food. We finish our foodie adventures with Vietnamese 'dessert-in-a-glass.' We’ll take you to and from the area by xe om (motorbike taxis). If you’re worried about your children riding on a motorbike, you'll have the option of taking a taxi (this requires a slightly earlier pickup and a small surcharge).
Learn the secrets of local cuisine with our English- speaking Vietnamese Chef! At 8:00 AM, you'll be picked up and taken to the agricultural village (approx 40km from the city centre). Upon arrival, you'll visit an organic garden with many kinds of herbs, spices and vegetables. Later, experience what it is like to be a Vietnamese farmer - selecting herbs and vegetables from the garden under guidance of your chef. You'll then sit down to cook and enjoy a tasty 3 course meal under guidance of your friendly professional chef.
After lunch you'll be driven to the Cu Chi tunnels. You'll get to explore the bedrooms, meeting rooms, air-raid shelters, and kitchens of the 200 km tunnel complex built by the Communist guerrillas.
In the morning, you and your family will leave Ho Chi Minh City for Vinh Long in the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, you'll be taken to Vinh Long market where you can sample local produce such as seafood, tropical fruits, and vegetables. You'll then embark on a private boat to visit brick- kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. You'll also visit a nursery garden and meet with a famous farmer who will invite your kids to sample seasonable fruits from his garden while you samply the homemade local vodka!
In the afternoon, you'll take a rowing sampan along small creeks before cruising to your homestay on An Binh Island where you'll be treated to a traditional music show. Next up: cycling along village paths of the Mekong Delta. Your accommodation for the night will be in private rooms of a friendly local family's house.
Today, you'll have an early start to travel by boat to Cai Be's colourful floating market, cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables. An optional stop can be made at local workshops where you can see how to make rice paper, coconut candy, popcorn, soya sauce, and coconut leaves for cottage roofs! The cruise will end at Cai Be town where your vehicle will transfer you back to Ho Chi Minh City with lunch break en-route.
