Your East Africa trip starts today with the flight from Hamburg via Amsterdam to Kigali - Rwanda. Once there, get your East African visa. Your guide is already waiting for you and will take you to the Hotel des Mille Colline for check-in.
After breakfast you will be picked up and drive across the Ugandan border to the Bwindi National Park.
The trip takes only 3-4 hours and takes you through the evergreen hills of Rwanda into the Ugandan highlands. Spend the night in the evergreen highlands of the Bwindi National Park.
Lake Mutanda : Lake Mutanda is a small freshwater lake nestled between the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in the Virunga Mountains. The environment on the islands within the lake and the surrounding countryside includes wetland habitats and lakeside forests rising up the mountainsides which are home to the endangered Mountain Gorilla.

Today is the highlight of your Uganda trip. The visit of the mountain gorillas. You will be briefed by the rangers and assigned to the guides early in the morning before heading to the rainforest. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is home to both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees.
The gorillas that you will visit belong to one of nine families that tolerate the presence of people for a short time a day. The hike takes you through the mountain slopes. On the way, your guide will explain some things about the gorillas and their life and habitat. The hike takes at least 2 hours to arrive at the gorillas. Then you can spend a maximum of 1 hour with the gorillas and watch them. Then it goes back to the accommodation.

In the morning you will be picked up and cross the Ugandan - Rwandan border again. A great tour is waiting for you today.
North Rwanda is known for its breathtaking scenery. Get a unique view of Rwanda's hinterland on a canoe trip from Musanze and drive past farms, green hills and rural villages. Keep an eye out for native animals such as birds and otters and benefit from the knowledge that your professional guide will also tell you.
You'll ride a modern canoe on a mostly calm river through the thousand hills that Rwanda is famous for. Through a lush, fertile valley with many birds and friendly farmers who work in their fields, you get a unique view of rural life.
Morning transfer to Kigali Airport. You fly to Kilimanjaro Airport with Rwandan Air. Here you can get your Tanzania visa (US $ 50 per person or 100 US per person, if US national) and be greeted by your guide, who will take you to Maramboi Tented Lodge. Driving time about 3 - 3,5 hours.
Enjoy the sunset over Lake Manyara in the evening and the view over the Savannah from the lounge or your terrace.
In the morning we have planned a hike with a ranger in the Tarangire National Park. The tour starts at the main gate and leads you into the wilderness of the Tarangire. Follow the animal tracks and listen to the explanations of the ranger, who will guide you safely through the bush. On this tour, you can discover even the smallest traces and legacies of the wildlife, before you proceed with the safari car through the park for the rest of the day. At lunchtime, take a break at one of the rest areas in the park and let the surroundings sink into your mind. The afternoon is filled again with animal observations before returning to the accommodation.
Today, visit Lake Manyara National Park. This park impresses with its interaction between lake and forest. Giraffes, buffalos, dik diks and impalas will cross your path. In the afternoon we go for a walk in the lofty heights - the only treetop path in Tanzania - the Treetop Walkway. A great view! After you have moved a little bit out of the car, you continue up to the escarpment to the next accommodation. The journey takes about 30 - 45 minutes. Pack a sweater - especially at night it can get a bit chilly.
Today you will make an unforgettable Ngorongoro crater tour. In the beginning, drive 600 m into the crater. Arrived on the crater floor, the game drives begin. Be impressed by the wildebeests, zebras and elephants. At the end of the rides, you will climb the steep crater wall with the safari car and proceed to your next accommodation.
After breakfast, leave the property and drive to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. You drive past the Ngorongoro Crater into the crater highlands and then down into the plains of the Serengeti. Take a break at Naabi Hill Gate. Climb the path up to the rocks and enjoy the view of the Serengeti! On the way you can visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum and a Maasai village (entrance fees to the museum and Maasai village are payable locally, these are not included in the price) Game drives on the way to the accommodation.
On this day you have ample opportunity to explore the wildlife of the Serengeti. Enjoy the full-day game drive. If you are lucky, you will encounter a pack of lions hunting, or a herd of wildebeests looking for water, followed by zebras and hyenas. Every day brings new surprises in the animal observation. Remember your day adventure in the evening under the stars.
In the morning you make the last game drive on the way to the Seronera Airstrip. You fly from here to Zanzibar. You will be expected there and taken to your beach hotel. The journey takes about 1 hour. Remaining day at leisure.
Free days in Zanzibar - on-site you can organize your own excursions. Enjoy the last few days of vacation and let the waves of the Indian Ocean wash around your feet. The island is a quiet spot - perfect for relaxing and unwinding and to review the whole safari impressions of the last few weeks. Tips on excursions can be found in the notes.
Today your journey comes to an end. 3 hours before your flight departure you will be picked from the hotel and transferred to the airport.
