The climate here is hotter than elsewhere in Korea, even in winter, because it is a subtropical island, situated about 70 km from the Korean peninsula.
Jeju-do possesses three sites that have been listed as world heritage sites by UNESCO: Geomunoreum volcano lava tunnels and the volcanic formations nearby, Mount Hallasan, and Seongsan or "Sunrise Peak". The island is attractive during any season. It is a true paradise for nature lovers, but also for those who want to do sports activities like paragliding or diving. The underwater flora and fauna are closer to that of Southeast Asia than what one usually finds on Korean coasts.
I did a lot of hikes there, both in the heart of the mountains and volcanoes as well as along the cliffs. Some of the volcanic rocks with strange forms are quite spectacular.
