This itinerary has been crafted by our Local Agency with one idea in mind: to inspire you. Every element can be adapted to your needs and your interests, from duration to accommodation and activities.
Arrive at Lisbon Airport, transfer to your accommodation.
Discover Lisbon with the seven cinematic hillsides overlooking the Rio Tejo cradle; Lisbon's postcard-perfect panorama of cobbled alleyways, ancient ruins and white-domed cathedrals.
Visit the area of Belém - so deeply connected to the maritime discoveries made by the Portuguese sailors and explorers of the past. The Parque das Nações (Nations Park) constitutes a residential, cultural and commercial borough, built to the East of Lisbon using the infrastructure designed for the world famous Expo 98 Exhibition. Later, enjoy a Fado show (our traditional music) at a local restaurant.
In the morning, visit Sintra village - known for being like a page torn from a fairy tale. Visit Pena Palace, the most complete example of Romantic architecture in Portugal and enjoy lunch at a Fish restaurant on the beach. Stop at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point in Europe and Boca do inferno, one of the most fascinating places in Cascais. Its name relates to the size and sheer force of the huge waves that batter these shores in winter. Why not stop to visit Cascais, a sleepy fishing village that has rocketed into a much-loved summertime playground of wave-frolicking surfers. Later, you will return to Lisbon along the scenic coastline.
To the south of Lisbon lies a plethora of local attractions and landmarks, from the Monument to Christ statue overlooking the city of Lisbon; cute fishing villages like Sesimbra, the beautiful protected area of Mediterranean nature that is Arrabida Park, to one of the westernmost observation points on the European continent with an amazing view over the Atlantic Ocean at Cabo Espichel. You can also see an artisanal tile factory (which manufactures handmade tiles using 16th century techniques) and the Azeitão Area; a beautiful landscape covered in Pines trees and rich in Mediterranean vegetation, including many rare species.
First stop, the medieval town of Óbidos: one of the most picturesque and well preserved of its kind in Portugal. Where to eat? With a warren of narrow, cobbled lanes full of eateries, you'll be spoilt for choice! Afterwards, visit the popular seaside resort of Nazaré to promenade along the beach before returning to Lisbon.
Congratulations, you're now a local!
