Today in the morning or in the afternoon, we start our tour with a panoramic view of the “Pucllana Pyramid” a magnificent ceremonial and archeological center built in the 4th century a.D. and considered a “sacred village” by the Incas. Then, we will visit the Historical Center of Lima, where you will appreciate more than fifty monuments and Colonial edifications, such as the Paseo de la República, the San Martín Square, the Main Square, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral Basilica, and the City Council Palace amongst others.
After this, we will visit the Museum of Banco Central de Reserva, where we will admire the “Treasures of Perú” Collection, a fine selection of objects made of gold, ceramics and textiles from different pre-columbian cultures. Also, we will also have the opportunity to visit the monumental San Francisco Convent which displays the largest collection of religious art in America. Afterwards you leave the historic centre for a trip to the modern districts Miraflores and San Isidro, which are dominated by office blocks, villas, urban parks and promenades on the Pacific coast. After the city tour you return to your hotel.

After breakfast you will drive you to the Lima’s airport in order to take your flight to Arequipa. Upon your arrival you will be taken to your hotel. After you check In in your hotel, we will pick you up to start a guided city tour in the historic centre of Arequipa, which is also called “White City” because it is dominated by white buildings. First you visit the Plaza de Armas (the main square) and the convent Santa Catalina, a city within the city with alleys and colourful buildings. Afterwards we will take you by car to the viewpoints of Yanahuara and Cayma, which both offer amazing panoramic views of the city and the nearby volcanoes Misti and Chachani. After the tour, we will return you to the hotel.

Today you go on a trip to Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons of the world. Early in the morning you leave Arequipa and enter the nature reserve Aguada Blanca, which is inhabited by wild vicuñas. Then you pass the highest spot of the trip (4900 metres), where you can enjoy a splendid view of the surrounding volcanoes and glaciers. Finally you arrive in the village of Chivay, where the Colca Canyon begins. There you have the possibility to visit the local market, or to walk to the hot springs.

Early in the morning you go to Cruz del Condor (“Cross of the Condor”), which is an ideal place to observe the flight of the condor, the largest flying bird of the world. Besides, you also have a phenomenal view of the canyon illuminated in the morning sun. On your way back to Chivay you pass villages which have remained almost unchanged since the colonial era. Upon your arrival in Chivay, you will have time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, you finally take your shared bus to Puno, located on the shore of Lake Titicaca.

After breakfast you go on a boat trip on the legendary Lake Titicaca. First you visit the famous Floating Islands inhabited by the Uros people, who nowadays speak Aymara. These man-made islands are made of reed (totora) and fastened on pegs to avoid drifting away. Afterwards you continue your boat trip on the huge lake, which seems to be a sea, until you reach Taquile. This natural island is shaped by terraces. The inhabitants speak Quechua and still live according to the rules inherited from the Inca period.
Though property is private, labour is collective: the inhabitants of the island work one day for themselves and the other day for the community. They are self-sufficient and live according to the Inca principles: “do not steal, do not lie, don’t be lazy”. From the heights of the island you have a superb view of the lake, the Puno bay and the Royal Bolivian Mountain Range. In the afternoon, you will return to your hotel in Puno.

Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to the bus station, in order to take the tourist bus towards Cusco. You will cross the Colla plateau, where you make a stop in Pukara, which is one of the last remaining arquaeological sites of the pre-Inca Pukara culture. You will then traverse the La Raya pass (4360m), which marks the end of the plateau and the beginning of the Cusco region.
In Sicuani you try a typical lunch before continuing towards Raqchi where you will visit the spectacular Inca sanctuary built by the ruler Pachacutec in honour of the Inca God Wiracocha. You will then continue your journey towards the village Andahuaylillas visiting the church San Pedro, known as the “Sistine Chapel” of South America notably due to its lavishly painted ceiling. Arrival in Cusco at the end of the day.

Today in the morning or afternoon (your selection) will make a guided city tour in Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. You start visiting the cathedral, which is located on the Plaza de Armas, the main square in Cusco. Inside the impressive building you can find many paintings of the Cusco School. Afterwards you go to the church Santo Domingo, where once was located the Temple of the Sun in the Inca period, also known as Qorikancha. Then you leave the historic centre to visit the four Inca ruins in the surroundings of Cusco: Kenko, Tambomachay, Puka Pukara and the stunning fortress Sacsayhuamán. Finally you return to your hotel. In the morning you set out for the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Your first stop is the Inca site of Pisac built on a hill, which is composed of terraces, fountains and the largest necropolis of the region. From this place the Incas controlled and dominated the Sacred Valley. On your way back down you visit the traditional market of Pisac. Then you continue your trip driving along the Urubamba River, while you can enjoy the lovely countryside of the valley. Finally you reach the village Ollantaytambo, where the streets and buildings have remained almost unchanged since the Inca period. There you visit the impressive Inca site built on a slope. In the evening, you take the train to the small town of Aguas Calientes, which is located at the foot of Machu Picchu and where you will spend the night.

Very early in the morning, you will take the bus which brings you up to the most famous and impressive Inca site: Machu Picchu, which means “old summit” in Quechua. Together with your guide you will start to discover the archaeological complex, still covered by the morning mist, built on top of a ridge and surrounded by precipices: a stunning view that evolves with the progression of the sun. You will roam through the alleys of the citadel, its quarters, squares, royal houses, agricultural zones, paths and observatories.
After the guided tour you will have the opportunity to visit the Inca bridge and the Sun Gate (“Inti Punku”), situated at 2700 metres. Alternatively, you can also wander about the alleys and squares of Machu Picchu. Finally, in the afternoon, you return to Aguas Calientes to take the train back to train station, from where you will be driven to your hotel in Cusco.
