Early in the morning, we will pick you from your Lima’s hotel (considered only hotels located in downtown Lima or Miraflores district), and drive you to the international Lima’s airport, in order that you take your flight to Cusco. Upon your arrival in Cusco, you will be welcomed by our personnel, and taken to your hotel in Cusco.
In the afternoon, you will have a guided city tour in Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. You will start visiting the Cathedral, which is located on the Plaza de Armas, the main square in Cusco. Afterwards you go to the church Santo Domingo, where once was located the Temple of the Sun in the Inca period, also known as Qorikancha. The tour continues out of the city to visit the Inca complexes of Q'enqo, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuamán, built strategically on a hill overlooking the city of Cusco. Finally you will be returned to your hotel.

This day you will begin to explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas, on the shore of the Vilcanota River. In this excursion you will visit the Inca citadel of Pisac, and then you will go down to the town in order to visit the traditional market, it’s in this market that you will have the opportunity to discover the customs of the people, and to be able to bargain with the crafts’s sellers. You will have time for lunch.
Then you will continue towards the fortress of Ollantaytambo, which was built to monitor the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of the villages of the Jungle. You can wander through the streets of this town, which have still preserved the traces of the old military center, religious since the time of the Inca empire. After this visit, assistance will be given to the Ollantaytambo train station. Around 19:00 hours, you will take the train towards Aguas Calientes town where you will spend the night. Upon arrival our representative will welcome you and walk you to the hotel in Aguas Calientes.

Very early in the morning, you will take the bus which brings you up to the most famous and impressive Inca site: Machu Picchu, which means “old summit” in Quechua. Together with your guide you will start to discover the archaeological complex, still covered by the morning mist, built on top of a ridge and surrounded by precipices: a stunning view that evolves with the progression of the sun. You will roam through the alleys of the citadel, its quarters, squares, royal houses, agricultural zones, paths and observatories.
After the guided tour you will have the opportunity to visit the Inca bridge, and the Sun Gate (“Inti Punku”), situated at 2700 metres on your own. Alternatively, you can also wander about the alleys and squares of Machu Picchu. Finally, in the afternoon, you return to Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo train station, from where you will be transferred by our personnel, and taken to your hotel in Cusco.
