Arrive in sunny Cancun ready to start your Hacienda adventure! You will meet your guide at the airport who will assist you with everything you need. Head to your hotel and take some time to relax before your journey begins!
In the morning, visit the peaceful, colonial town of Valladolid. Appreciate the pretty pastel coloured houses, while eating an ice cream. Then, explore one of the 7 Modern Wonders of the World. Built by the Maya, and then reorganized by the Toltecs, Chichén Itzá symbolises the unification of both religious cultures. It is the largest archaeological site in Yucatan. In the afternoon, travel to the beautiful, romantic, colonial town of Izamal, which is entirely painted in yellow. Spend your evening relaxing in a hammock in the gardens of your hacienda.
Take an extraordinary journey through some of the nearby villages by motorcycle taxi. Visit the only Mexican hacienda where henequen (or Sisal) is still produced. Learn about how the plant is processed and what the local people use it for. Also, travel to Maya Aké, a small archeological site, rarely visited by the general public. In the afternoon, have lunch in the village of Tixkokob where you can watch the local weavers creating their hammocks in the shade of the afternoon sun.
Today, cruise along the northern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula and arrive at a small fishing village. Here, take a kayak and navigate through the lagoon where you will find flocks of graceful flamingos who live in the mangroves. Refresh yourself in the crystal clear water and enjoy some locally caught fish for lunch. Spend the evening strolling the colourful streets of Mérida.
Enjoy this day as you please, whether it’s reading a book by the pool at your hacienda or wandering through Mérida. There are many historical monuments and delightful little plazas. This is perfect for an afternoon of listening to local music and sampling some Yucatan food.
Explore the archaeological site of Uxmal which is peaceful and not widely visited by tourists… Uxmal, in the Mayan language, means “Thrice Built”, but in reality the city was constructed five times. Visit the neighboring Cacoa Museum where you can sample some traditional chocolate drink made by the Mayans. After a morning of exploring ruins, refresh yourselves by the pool at your hotel and enjoy the peace and quiet.
This morning, stop at the quiet ruins of Mayapan where there are rarely many tourists. Take in the awesome views of the Mayan Jungle from the top of the pyramids. Then travel through the forest to swim in private cenotes, pools of water unique to this part of the world. Explore two cenotes and have a refreshing swim in beautiful and secluded settings. Enjoy a private picnic with champagne. Return to the hacienda in the afternoon.
Rise early this morning as you travel towards the Caribbean coast. Stop at the mysterious ruins of Coba, one of the largest Mayan cities on the peninsula. Ride a bike through the archeological site and gaze upon a 42m high pyramid, a 9-storey high palace and the most extended network of cobbled roads ever discovered. In the afternoon, visit the spectacular archeological site of Tulum, the only Mayan ruins to overlook the Caribbean Sea. Spend the evening in the bohemian town of Tulum, a Pueblo Magico situated on the Caribbean coast.
Spend your day relaxing on the white, sandy beaches of Tulum. Sunbathe in the Caribbean sun or take a dip in the crystal, blue waters or set off on a snorkelling excursion. Spend your final evening dipping your toes in the warm Caribbean sea and enjoying a romantic meal at the hotel by candlelight (included).
It's time to say goodbye to Mexico as your honeymoon in our country has come to an end. We hope you’ve had a wonderfully romantic time exploring the Haciendas of the Yucatán Peninsula. Depart from your hotel with more than enough time to get to the airport. Have a safe flight home!
