San Miguel de Allende
President Enrique Peña Nieto once described his country as 'a mosaic of different realities and beauties' and this could not be more true. Visiting the different states and regions of Mexico is like traveling through separate countries.

Guanajuato in Mexico
The Agent's Top Picks!
  • The archeological site of Uxmal is one of our favorites of the Mayan ruins. It is peaceful and not widely visited by tourists.
  • The island of Holbox is still relatively untouched by tourism and is one of the most beautiful, authentic and romantic destinations in the country.
  • Cenotes are truly unique to the Yucatán peninsular. Cenotes are natural pools of fresh and crystalline water, created by holes in the soft ground.
  • When visiting Guanajuato you don't need organized activities. You can simply wander through the maze of colorful, vibrant streets lined with stalls!

Our agency offers customers the opportunity to visit many local people in their homes or workshops to eat local food and see how the people make their trade. This gives travelers the opportunity to really experience authentic Mexico while learning about local culture and traditions. We also offer the chance for our travelers to stay in eco-friendly accommodations in some of the more off-the-beaten-track areas of the country such as the Sierra Gorda Nature Reserve and the jungles of Chiapas. Both options provide work and extra income for residents of remote areas of Mexico. See more

    Best parts:
All went very well with Guides, Drivers and Lodging. Pleased with trip and will recommend your agency.
    Worst parts:
Bit disappointed that approved lodging not available for Oaxaca portion but realized late booking.
    Summary:
Had lived in Mexico for 27 months in 1980s and wished return. Enjoyed special guided portions including visits to arts/crafts artists and off the cuff meals and local visits.

I'm really glad you enjoyed your time in Mexico City, Puebla and Oaxaca. I've passed on your comments to the drivers and guides who accompanied during your trip. Visiting the local people and learning about their crafts is a really great way to get to know Mexico! Safe travels in 2020 and I hope to welcome you back to Mexico again in the near future!
