During my trip to Sardinia, I arrived in Sant'Antioco and was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere of the island. I toured the island, leaving the ponds to my left. I observed many flamingos and other birds near the salt marshes. Heading north, I arrived in Calasetta, the second locality of the island. It is populated by fishermen and farmers. I took the street that leads up to the tower to admire the landscape.
Continuing outside of the town, I came across some beautiful beaches of white sand, bordered by junipers. Further up the road, I left the tarmac and followed a path. I arrived in Cala Lunga. I spent a long time there, enthralled by the beauty of the place. It is a wild cove with crystal clear water.
When I returned to Sant'Antioco, after discovering the back country and the southern coast, I strolled through its streets and archaeological area. Its port gives on to a lagoon. The boats are moored in canals and Sant'Antioco is sometimes called the lagoon town of Sardinia.
