Day 1: Welcome to Iceland!

Transfer to your accommodation in Reykjavík

• You will receive a detailed version of your itinerary upon arrival

Explore the highlights of Reykjavik such as the Hallgrímskirkja Church, Harpa Centre and the Sun Voyager sculpture

• In the evening, enjoy a nice dinner at one of many nearby restaurants

Day 2: Heading North

Collect the rental car and head for Deildartunguhver hot spring

• In Húsafell, join a super truck tour up to Langjökull glacier

• Explore the depths of a man-made ice cave

• Hikers should add the Kerlingarfjöll mountain range to their itinerary

• After the hike, a bath in a natural hot spring in Hveravellir is a must!

• Spend the night in Skagafjörður

Day 3: Akureyri is next!

Choose your route either through the mountains of Tröllaskagi or the Troll Peninsula

• Stop in Hofsós for a dip in the thermal infinity pool

• Continue to Siglufjörður, a thriving fishing village

• Stop in Akureyri. Three options there include a visit to the Botanical Garden and Hof Culture House or a wander down charming Hafnarstræti street

• Visit Goðafoss, the 'Waterfall of the Gods'

• Arrive in the beautiful Lake Mývatn region

Day 4: Krafla caldera lake hike

• Take a full day to explore the highlights of the Mývatn area

• Walk the rim of the impressive Skútustaðir pseudo craters

Hike among lava formations of the Dimmuborgir lava field

Hike Krafla caldera, a volcanic crater with a jaw dropping lake at its center (1h)

Take a dip in Mývatn Nature Baths

• Overnight in the Mývatn area

Day 5: The Diamond Circle

• Embark on the magnificent Diamond Circle route

• Head towards Húsavík to enjoy an optional whale watching tour (3h)

 Drive to Ásbyrgi canyon before arriving at the amazing Dettifoss waterfall, the most powerful waterfall in Europe

• Check out the mud pools at Námaskarð geothermal area

• Return to Lake Mývatn in time for a well deserved dinner


Day 6: Day at leisure in Myvatn

• Today is a free day! Fear not, we're got some recommendations:

• Visit the Askja caldera. Explore lunar landscapes, the Drekagil canyon and Herðubreiðarlindir

• Then, hike to the Víti crater and bathe in its opaque blue waters

• Also, it's possible to take asightseeing flight from Akureyri to Grimsey island

Day 7: Return to Reykjavik

• Today, you will return to Reykjavik

• Stop at Grábrók crater in Borgarfjörður, a great vantage point of the surrounding lava field

• Visit the Settlement Exhibition in Borgarnes to learn about the heroes of Iceland

Drop off the rental car and head to your hotel

Day 8: Blue lagoon and departure

• If your flight is in the afternoon, you can stop for a dip at the Blue Lagoon (reservation required)

Transfer to Keflavík International airport in time for your departure flight
