Iceland is such a beautiful, friendly place. As a photographer, it was a rich environment, and I am very pleased with the images that I obtained.
I was amazed at how friendly Iceland is; I even got to get my picture taken with Iceland's President!
I was lucky to be there for Independence day, and I really enjoyed the celebrations.
Tour guides with Thor, Adolf, and Tomas were excellent.
I have recommended to my photography club that they organize a group trip to Iceland. I had an outstanding time. I can see myself returning in the winter months for Aurora photography, for blue ice ice cave photography, and for city lights night photography. I can see myself coming back some August to get images of the puffins after their young have hatched.
I would have liked to be touring with other serious photographers, so that I would have more time for photos. Regular tourists aren't very patient with fussy photographers, and I had to be sensitive to that.
The puffin tour was kind of a waste of time: a short ride out into the harbor on a small pitching boat to photograph a tiny, swift bird from far away. Maybe some day I can return to Iceland and do some land based puffin photography at Borgarfjordur Eystri or at the Latrabjarg Bird cliffs.
The Fosshotel Baron was OK, but I would have paid more for a nicer hotel with a bigger shower, better blackout curtains, and better noise isolation. I can't complain about the excellent location.
