Day 1: Arrival Munich

Your driver will pick you up at the airport with a name board at your gate of arrival. After checking in to your hotel in Munich you will have some time to relax. Later in the day you will be picked up from your private guide to go on a 2-hour walking Highlights Tour in Munich with a 2-hour Viktualienmarkt Tasting Tour. During the walking Highlights Tour you will see Munich’s most famous sights and your guide will tell you everything about the history and culture of Munich.

Your guide will also introduce you to the Munich Christkindlmarkt christmas market! The most famous and most visited Christmas market in Munich is also the most central one. Directly in front of the New Town Hall there are numerous stands during Advent selling mulled wine, Christmas delicacies, toys, clothing and gifts.

The historic Viktualienmarkt farmers’ market is a delight for all the senses. It is located in the heart of the old town and it is a premier place to shop for fresh produce, dairy, bread, Bavarian specialities and even Bavarian arts and crafts! The guide takes you for a stroll over the Viktualienmarkt and introduces you to the marketeers. The marketeers are happy to take time for you and tell you about their products, their history and true traditional Bavarian companies. While you listen you get to taste several Bavarian delicacies like Obatzter with fresh bread or local cheese.

The transfer service, which begins 30 minutes before dinner begins, is included in the ticket price. The 3-course meal is served in the historical setting of the fortress. Beautifully ‘seasoned’ with one-of-a-kind scenery: At the panorama restaurant enthroned high above the city, Salzburg literally lies at your feet…

Dinner is followed by the culinary highlight of the evening: a Fortress Concert in the Golden Hall or the Burgsaal. High above the rooftops of Salzburg, with a breath-taking and unbeatable view of the city of Mozart and its surroundings, the most beloved works of Mozart to Bach are played in front of you by the Salzburg Advent Ensemble in the most beautiful rooms which the fortress has to offer.
