Compared with the absolutely mad construction plan of Neuschwanstein Castle you can say that Linderhof Palace is surprisingly subtle ! A beautiful house in the purest classical style, beautiful gardens embellished by magnificent fountains which are clearly influenced by the Palace of Versailles. In its entirety the house is of relatively modest dimensions, yet, despite the eccentricities of King Ludwig II, Linderhof was his favourite.
