A typical, Corsican mountain village, Conca has all the benefits of a high altitude hamlet. Quiet even during summer months, it offers a refreshing break from the packed beaches below.

My suggestion:
Hot, sweaty hikers, glad to reach cooler heights, are relieved to leave tarmac roads and hit its rural, rocky terrain. Conca is the departure point for one of the GR20 trails,, which is one of the country's famous hikes.
My review

Conca perfectly blends traditional Corsica with an adventurous side - change of scenery guaranteed!

The stone used to build most of Conca's houses is typical of Corsican villages' architectural style. This is a quiet little haven; no noisy nightlife and few people. Time stands still in Conca. The local women sit outside their houses and pass the time of day until evening falls.

I loved this villages as it's far away from overcrowded beaches but boasts its own distant, yet stunning sea view. With only a few shops and inhabitants, Conca is ideal for nature lovers and hikers.

Be warned, however, that it's a bit hard to reach and the access road is sinuous, to say the least.
