This itinerary has been crafted by our Local Agency with one idea in mind: to inspire you. Every element can be adapted to your needs and your interests, from duration to accommodation and activities.

Day 1: Welcome to Ecuador

After landing in the world´s highest located capital city, Quito. You will be picked up by a private transfer who will take you to your hotel located in a very cozy neighborhood. Here you have the rest of the day/evening (depending on when your flight lands) free at your own disposal.

Day 2: Full day city tour

Walking through the historic part of Quito in the morning you will get to know the Plaza Grande as well as the churches La Compañía and San Francisco. For the afternoon, you decide between two trips: Either you take the cable car to Quito’s local Mountain “Pichincha” with a height of 4.100m|13,450ft OR you can step on both hemispheres at the same time at the Equator Monument “Mitad del Mundo”!

Day 3: Explore the Cotopaxi National Park

In the morning you are exploring the Cotopaxi National Park with a size of 34.000ha and the Cotopaxi Volcano which can be climbed up to a refuge at a height of 4.800m. In the afternoon you continue your journey to Lasso, where you are going to spend the night in a cozy accommodation.

Day 4: Waterfall of Pailon del Diablo

Today you leave Lasso in the early morning and drive towards the cozy mountain town, Baños. Before reaching the town, you will stop by a very impressive waterfall called Pailon del Diablo. After this visit you will continue to Baños where you will spend the night.

Day 5: Visit Ecuador´s highest mountain

After breakfast, you leave your accommodation in Lasso and drive towards Riobamba. Before reaching Riobamba, you will visit Ecuador´s highest mountain, Chimorazo. Here you may embark on a longer hike to the refugio. Afterwards, you will continue to your accommodation in Riobamba.

Day 6: Spectacular mountain landscapes

In the morning you are taking the train departing from Alausi to the “Devil’s Nose”, passing spectacular mountain landscapes. On your way to Cuenca, where you are going to stay that night, the pre-Columbian ruins of Ingapirca mark an exciting stopover offering the possibility to explore the culture of the Inca.

Day 7: Cuenca City Tour

You are spending the day in the colonial city of Cuenca, whose historic center was declared world cultural heritage in 1999. After a city tour with stops at the churches and the markets you also visit a Panama hat factory at the Rio Tomebamba before having the afternoon and evening at your free disposal.

Day 8: Amazing nature of the Cajas National Park

Before reaching Ecuador’s largest city Guayaquil in the afternoon, you are today exploring the amazing nature of the Cajas National Park with its forests and seascapes. You can also visit a banana and cacao plantation before continuing your journey!

Day 9: Head to Galapagos Islands

You will be transferred from your hotel to the airport in order to catch a flight to the Galapagos Islands. Arriving at the airport of Baltra your tour leader will welcome you to the Galapagos Islands. On the neighbor island of Santa Cruz you will pass the highlands and visit a ranch to see the famous Galapagos giant tortoises in its natural environment. After lunch you will learn a lot of interesting things about the national park’s breeding program for tortoises at the Charles Darwin Station.

Day 10: Island Hopping by Boat

Today you are visiting a nearby Galapagos Island. According to availability the destination of your excursion yacht will be one of the following islands: Plazas, Seymour, Bartolomé or Santa Fé. You are exploring both the island on a walk and its underwater world snorkeling. Enjoy your lunch on the boat before returning to Santa Cruz in the late afternoon.

Day 11: Visiting the interpretation center

You leave Santa Cruz with the speedboat in the early morning. Upon arrival on San Cristobal you will be met up by a guide who will take you to your first stop. As an introduction to your Galapagos program you are visiting the interpretation center of the island where you will learn a lot about the archipelago’s formation as well as the development of human settlement. The evening is free to explore Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.

Day 12: Boat Trip to the surroundings of San Cristóbal

Today a boat takes you to one of these natural highlights of the island "León Dormido & Puerto Grande". After the volcanic rock island León Dormido with its population of sea birds you are visiting the white beach at the bay Puerto Grande for swimming and snorkeling.

Day 13: San Cristóbal Highlands

You are exploring the highlands of San Cristobal today: Here you visit the lagoon „El Junco“ to enjoy the volcanic surroundings. Afterwards you are driving to “Galapaguera de Cerro Colorado”, home of the famous giant tortoises. To complete the day you can take a bath at the beach of Puerto Chino in the afternoon, accompanied by several sea lions.

Day 14:  Departure day!

On your last day in Galapagos you get picked up from your hotel and dropped off at the airport on San Cristobal. Here you will catch your flight back to the Ecuadorian mainland. We wish you a safe flight back!
