Day 1: Arrival in Phnom Penh

Upon arrival, you'll be met by a representative from our local travel agency and transferred to your hotel before setting off on a sunset boat cruise. Begin on the Tonle Sap River, which famously reverses direction each year, acting as the world's largest natural flood barrier for the Mekong River. Cruise past the Royal Palace compound and around the Chrouy Changvar Peninsular, past small villages and see fishing boats preparing their catch. Description of activity

Visited:
Phnom Penh

Day 2: The Royal Palace and National Museum

This morning you will explore the stunning Royal Palace complex, home to the Cambodian royal family and a symbol of the nation. Continue on to the Silver Pagoda, named after the 5000 silver tiles covering the floor, each weighing 1kg. Inside are some of the country's most cherished treasures, including a life-size gold Buddha studded with 9584 diamonds, the largest weighing 25 carats. From here, go to the National Museum, home to the world's finest collection of sculpture from the Angkor period.

Day 3: Phnom Penh to Siem Reap

Leave Phnom Penh and travel north towards the provincial capital of Kompong Thom. En route,  stop off at Skuon, affectionately known as 'Spiderville', where it is possible to sample the local delicacy of deep fried tarantula. Carry on to the impressive pre-Angkorian capital of Isanapura, where you can take an ox-cart or optional bicycle ride to the temples. Later, you will continue northwest on National Highway 6. This was an old Angkor road and we stop in Kompong Kdei to see one of the ancient Angkor bridges, some of which have more than 20 arches. Continue to Siem Reap and check into your hotel.

Visited:
Siem Reap

Day 4: Sunset Quadbiking

Travel back in time to one of the earliest capitals in the Angkor area, Hariharilaya, now known as Roluos. In the afternoon, travel to Kompong Pluk and board a small wooden boat to take you to a medieval floating village, where the houses stand on top of stilts. In the evening, take a sunset Quad bike trip around Siem Reap and through the ricefields, past temples and through the countryside and rural villages around Siem Reap.

Day 5: The Hidden Trail of Angkor

Today you will explore some of the most impressive temples at Angkor on two wheels, taking advantage of back roads and jungle paths to get off the beaten path and experience Angkor and its many fascinating temples away from the crowds.

Visited:
Angkor

Day 6: Angkor Photographic Scavenger Hunt

Take part in a challenging photographic scavenger hunt to explore Angkor Wat and find some hidden gems along the way. Some of the challenges will require a photograph of a specific statue or carving and others will require some interactivity on the part of your group. Then head to Angkor Zipline: A unique way to enjoy an adrenaline-filled adventure around Angkor. Family‐friendly, fun and safe, flying through the air above the jungle canopy is an exhilarating experience. The course includes 10 ziplines, including a ‘honeymoon’ tandem line, rope bridges, a treehouse and a 15m abseil descent to navigate.

Day 7: Journey to Kampot

Today your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to Siem Reap airport for your departure flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival in Phnom Penh you will be transferred to Kompot. Leave behind the suburbs of Phnom Penh as the road passes through some beautiful rural areas where there may be some good photo opportunities. We stop for a short break in Angk Tasaom before continuing to the graceful riverside town of Kampot.

Visited:
Kampot

Day 8: Phnom Chnork Kayaking

Today, you will leave Kampot and travel to Phnom Chhnork, a large cave that contains a 7th century brick temple in remarkable condition. After exploring the cave, you will explore the incredible ‘green cathedral’ of canals and channels that create a loop from the Kompong Bay River. Choose a solo kayak, a tandem kayak or a stand-up paddle board for this aquatic adventure. There are several guesthouses and cafes along the way where it is possible to stop for refreshments. The scenery is very impressive, with palms overhanging the narrow channels to create a tunnel of greenery.

Day 9: Trekking in Kep National Park

After breakfast, leave Kampot and travel towards the old French seaside resort of Kep. Kep is renowned for its fresh crab specialities and for its neighbouring island Koh Tonsay (Rabbit Island). However, it is also home to Kep National Park. Visible from all over Kep, these forested hills are home to varied birdlife and some primates. Explore the national park via well-marked trails that take a few hours to complete. Highlights include a local shrine amid the roots of a strangler fig, and Sunset Rock, the best place to see a dramatic sunset in the park. An early morning trek avoids the heat of the day while an afternoon trek gives you the option of a panoramic sunset.

Visited:
Kep

Day 10: Rabbit Island

Board a local boat which will take you to Koh Tonsay or Rabbit Island. We journey across calm waters to this beautiful palm-fringed island, home to a small community of fishermen and farmers. Enjoy some free time on the white-sand beaches that surround the island. After a lunch of fresh seafood, spend a little more time enjoying the sun, sea and sand before we travel back to Kep by boat.

Day 11: Phnom Penh Departure

Leave behind the beaches of Kep and head north towards the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. Stop for a short break in Angk Tasaom before continuing to the lively riverside capital. Check into our hotel and enjoy the rest of the day free before catching your flight.
