Arrive at Yangon International airport and warmly welcomed by our local tour guide. Transfer to hotel for relaxation. In the evening, visit the majestic Shwedagon Pagoda, gleaming in Gold and decorated with diamonds, is a spectacular work of architecture and proportional beauty.
Morning visit Botataung Pagoda, a famous landmark on Yangon’s waterfront, a harbor area around the Pagoda where the boats leave for the nearby villages and then proceed to Chaukhtetgyi Pagoda which is a huge reclining Buddha image. In the afternoon, visit Scott Market, where is a collection of local handicrafts, tapestry, clothes and etc.
Transfer to airport for flight to Bagan. Upon arrival at Bagan, start the sightseeing in Nyaung Oo Market; Shwezigon Pagoda, the prototype of later Myanmar stupas; Kyansittha U-min, a tunnel with interesting paintings; Wetkyi-in Gubyaukkyi Temple, with fine mural paintings of Jataka scenes and Htilominlo Temple, noted for its plaster carvings.
In the afternoon, visit lacquer work shop, Manuha Temple, built in Mon style in 1059, Nanphaya Temple, a unique sandstone monument that is said to have been palace of King Manuha and Dhammanyangyi Temple, the most massive temple in Bagan. In the evening, enjoy the sunset boat along Ayeyarwaddy River.
Morning drive to Popa, an extinct volcano. En route, stop at Palm Juice shop and see the progress of Palm Juice and Jaggery. Arrive at the foot of the Mt. Popa (pedestal hill), walk up to the top of the mountain, there are monasteries and pagodas in different style. Then, return to Bagan.
Afternoon visit in Bagan includes Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece resembling a Greek cross and Ananda Okkyaung, a brick monastery with 18th Century mural paintings.
Morning is leisure time in Bagan to explore on foot or by bicycle, or simply relax and enjoy the majestic scenery. In the afternoon, transfer to airport for flight to Yangon.
Optional Program: For a unique opportunity with Balloon Over Bagan: Bagan as you’ve never seen it before! Like a bird would see and wherever the wind takes you! The exciting thing about ballooning is that you just don’t know. You may see Bagan waking up in the morning. You will see many temples in the distance and get an aerial view of Bagan. Sometimes you may fly over villages and see people getting up in the morning and feeding their animals; or fly over fields and see people going to market. It is an amazing experience.
