Day 1: Arrival in Paro 

• Transfer from Airport the hotel.

• Afterwards, there should also be time to visit the temple of Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and sacred landmarks that introduced Buddhism into Bhutan.

• Tonight enjoy a welcome drink and dinner with BGT.

Day 2: Hike to Tiger’s Nest

• This morning you’ll embark on an early morning photo hike to the famous Paro Taktshang monastery (Tiger’s Nest). You will walk through beautiful pine forest, with Spanish Moss and fluttering prayer flags.

•Afterwards, travel to Haa. The pass is the highest point of motorable road in the country filled with picturesque sceneries, thickly forested countryside and views of spectacular snow-capped mountains.

Day 3: Haa valley

• Haa valley, adjacent to the Chinese border, is located in south
west of Paro, the most
 beautiful and isolated areas in the
 Kingdom. Haa offers countless monasteries and other sights for tourists.

• In the afternoon, we head to Thimphu.

• The evening is at leisure to relax – so why not go for a short orientation walk in the great atmospheric Thimphu town?

Day 4: Explore the best of Thimphu

• Today we explore the best of Thimphu city. Thimphu is a small city but has many attractive places to visit around. 

• We travel back to the National Memorial Chorten (Stupa), dedicated to the World Peace. Join the elderly Bhutanese people or likeminded devotees circumambulating the stupa.• Our next stop is at the Institute of Zorig Chusum (Painting School) to discover a glimpse of novices learning the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan.

• In the afternoon drive to the Sangaygang Hill next to Bhutan where you’ll have great views of the Thimphu valley and Tashichhodzong.

• The trail takes you through nature contouring the beautiful hills until Wangditse Gonpa. You’ll have time to visit the Gonpa or walk down to Dechen Phodrang Monastic School where your transport will pick you up.• Use your free time to relax or explore the great atmospheric Thimphu town. You’ll also explore the Craft Bazaar (Authentic Bhutanese Craft).

Day 5: Bhutan Festivals 2020

• Experience the day filled with traditional masked dances, depicting demons, heroes, animals and wearing brightly coloured brocade outfits. Many Tshechus (festivals) take place in various temples, monasteries and Dzongs throughout Bhutan annually. They reflect Bhutan’s Buddhist faith and its way of life.

Day 6: Moving to Punakha 

•  After breakfast, travel to Punakha. On a clear day, you will enjoy an amazing 360-degree panoramic view of the snow capped mountain peaks of eastern Himalayas. Both outsiders and Buddhists come here to practice meditation.

• Continue your journey descending into the sub-tropical valleys of Punakha and Wangdue Phodrang.• Later, discover the temples Chimi Lhakhang and Punakha Dzong.

Day 7: Fascinating Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten

• This morning enjoy a short hike to the fascinating fascinating Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten. It is majestically located on a ridge with stunning views of the countryside.  

• A 30-minute drive from the Punakha Dzong takes us to the base of the hill and then cross a suspension bridge over the Mochhu river and walk through rice fields before climbing a moderately inclined trail surrounded by pine trees.

• Then we drive 2 hours to the bowl-shaped glacial valley of Phobjikha. En route you will see the fortress-like Wangdue Phodrang Dzong.

• Later, visit the picturesque Gangtey Gonpa Monastery, which is located on a hillock overlooking a beautiful view of the Phobjikha valley. We will encounter herders caring for their herds, which graze on the dwarf bamboo of the area.

Day 8: Gangtey Nature Trail

• Phobjikha valley is delightful for day hikes. A walking tour through the valley allows you to see the villages, the local life and the mountains including the chance to spot the Black-Necked Cranes and some other birds. 

•  Continue the trail past Kingathang village where you have the opportunity to visit a temple built by the Queen Mother. Then we return to the hotel by walking through the Yusa village.

Day 9: ​Spiritual Heartland of Bhutan

• This morning drive to Trongsa. En route stop off at the Chendebji Chorten located below the road.

• Lunchtime is at Trongsa, the ancestral home of the present Royal Family of Bhutan.. You’ll be awestruck by the majestic architectural masterpiece of Trongsa Dzong with a distinctive yellow roof. 

•  You have an option to stop for a quick visit to the Yathra Weaving Centre at Chumey village, where they use yak and sheep wools for yathra products with patterns unique to Bumthang.

• The evening is at leisure to relax, enjoy or explore the delightful surroundings of Bumthang valley.

Day 10: Tang Valley in Bumthang

• Today enjoy asightseeing tour in one of the most beautiful and rich spiritual valleys of Bhutan. Bumthang valley is wide, filled with green countryside, fast flowing mountain streams and snow-capped mountains. 

• Continue to the impressive Ogyen Choling Heritage House atop the hill, which houses a museum of the ancient way of life.

• Tonight you’ll stay in a cozy and comfortable guesthouse run by the family of Ogyen Choling Heritage House.

Day 11: Bathpalathang Domestic Airport – Paro

• Today take a short flight (35-minutes) from Bumthang to Paro, where you will be  transferred to your hotel.  Paro is another beautiful valley and home to the famous Paro Taktshang, National Museum, Drukair and Bhutan Airlines.

• If time permits, we continue with the temple of Kyichu Lhakhang.

​• The evening is at leisure to explore the Paro town and may wish to hunt for souvenirs in Handicraft Shops or visit a local farmhouse to drink tea with the farmer and his family, allowing you to experience the traditional Bhutanese village life.

Day 12: Depart Paro
