Situated on the west coast, three hours from Kuala Lumpur, Pangkor is the perfect stopover for travellers exploring the coastline. I found myself on a peaceful island with stunning beaches, some of which were near-deserted and only accessible by foot. The landscape is magnificent, particularly to the north of the island.
There's something for everyone here and those of you on a family holiday will love the lively Nipah and Bogak Beaches. If you fancy a bit of luxury then head to Pangkor Laut, a relaxing resort island. What I really liked about this island was its small size and the opportunity to enjoy a host of different activities. You can go snorkelling, hiking, fishing and explore villages on stilts. I recommend you sample a roti (or pancake) at the harbour for breakfast, where you can admire the colourful, little fishing boats and watch fishermen noisily sell their catch.
