I can't say that my visit to Osaka left me with any lasting memories. It is a big modern city, with no particular charm, but which presents a certain face of Japan that is quite different from the provocative atmosphere of Tokyo and the cultural and spiritual dimension of Kyoto. One or two days there seem quite enough to me.
If there is one thing I will remember about Osaka, it would be the permanent animation of the Dotonbori district, with all its lights, big shopping malls, the many restaurants along the docks and all the amusement arcades, especially those dedicated to the famous game, Pachinko.
Don't miss the panoramic view of Osaka from the top of the Umeda Sky Building.
